This week in school was really fun! In social studies we researched our state and we got a packet to complete. First, we got a book about our state from a cart. Everybody got a different book because everybody got a different state. Then we went to a chapter of our book. Once we got to the right chapter, we read of the chapter to learn about what the first question asked us to do. Then we wrote it down. The first question was to write down the state and capital. The second question asked what region our state is in. The third question asked what are the other states in your region. (But Mrs. Sullivan said not to do that one yet.) The fourth question asked what is the nickname of your state. The fifth question asked the name of the state animal, state bird, state tree and state flower. I couldn't find my state tree. Last but not least, we had to write three manufactured things and three crops or agriculture.
The next thing we did was color our state flag. Some had small details so we had to color it with colored pencil since marker is too thick. I had a lot of fun this week learning about my state.
